City councilman George F. Hull, 75, died in
St. Joseph Hospital this morning, the result of a heart attack.
He was born in Warsaw, Ind. Dec. 31, 1871, and spent his young
manhood in Mishawaka. He gained wide prominence during 23 years
of early business experience as a partner in a cigar store known
as Hullies and Mikes, and thereafter as a
car salesman for 18 years, a pursuit which he followed until
World War II.
He is survived by his widow, the former Miss
Maude A. Penn, whom he married Aug. 20, 1899; a son,
Stanley P. Hull; a daughter, Mrs. Louis V. Bruggner, both
of South Bend; and three grandchildren, Mrs. A. W. Dailey
Jr., George W. Bruggner, and Miss Suzanne Hull, all of South
Bend; He is also survived by a brother, Frank M. Hull, of Los
Angeles, and two sisters, Mrs. L. W. Snyder and Miss
Katharine Hull, both of South Bend.
Friends will be received after 7:30 p.m.
today in the McGann Funeral Home. Funeral services have beenb set
tentatively for 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Methodist Church, of
which he was a member, with Rev. William E. Clark, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
