SOUTH BEND - Virginia Mae Huff, 81, residing in South
Bend, IN, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008, in her
home. She was born April 1, 1927, in Lakeville, IN, the daughter
of John and Emma (Norris) Bauer, and had lived in
Lakeville and South Bend's south side all of her life. On January
26, 1952, in Lakeville, she was united in marriage to Harold L.
Huff, who passed away on February 26, 1966. She was also preceded
in death by a son, James E. Huff on June 3, 1991. Virginia was a
wonderful mother, always caring for her family. She was a
longtime active member of Hillside Missionary Church in South
Bend, and was a 1945 graduate of Lakeville High School. She
formerly was employed with the South Bend Community School Corp.
and the Ridgedale Nursing Home. She is survived by a daughter,
Vickie (Joe) Dietz of South Bend, and two sons, Kenneth
(Diana) Huff of Marietta, GA, and Allan (June) Huff of Newburgh,
NY. One daughter-in-law, Marcie Huff of South Bend, also
survives. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Paul, Eric,
Brian, Joel, Adam, Ashley and Amanda. Three brothers, Paul
(Shirley) Bauer of Cassopolis, MI, Bob (Mary Kay) Bauer of
Mishawaka, IN, and Dick Bauer survive Virginia as well.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday,
Aug. 7, in Hillside Missionary Church, 21567 W. Ireland Road.
Rev. Kenneth Fetter, pastor, will officiate. Graveside services
and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in
the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan
Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Thursday in
the church. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Huff may be made to
Hillside Missionary Church, or to The Center for Hospice &
Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN
