Sister M. Magdalena CSC, 87, of St. Mary’s Convent died Wednesday evening in the Convent after a lengthy illness. She was registrar at St. Mary’s Academy from 1953 to 1967. A registered nurse and graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing she was assigned to St. Joseph Hospital and St. John’s Hospital in Anderson, Ind. She also served in hospitals in Illinois, Igaho, Ohio and Utah. She had lived at Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent until recently moving to St. Mary’s Convent. She was born July 12, 1888 in Peru, Ind.; entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Sept. 3, 1914; received as a novice on Dec. 10, 1914; and made her final vows on Dec. 10, 1918.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, on the campus. Friends may call in the convent where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. Friday.
