OSCEOLA - Maris Ann Huffman, 80, residing in Osceola,
co-owner with her son Mark of the O.C. Bowling Lanes, died after
a brief illness at 5:47 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2007, in her
home. She was born on April 11, 1927, in Mishawaka, to the late
John and Agnes (Myers) Bultinck.
She married the late Edwin L. Huffman on
July 12, 1947, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mishawaka. He
passed away on July 7, 1999. She was a charter member of Queen of
Peace Catholic Church. She belonged to the Osceola Widows Club
and Senior Citizens of Queen of Peace. Survivors include a
daughter, Karen and Bill Peak of New London, NC; two sons,
Dan and Linda (Houser) Huffman of Otisco, IN, and Mark and Terri
(Inks) Huffman of Osceola; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Lisa)
Huffman of Garner, NC, Jennifer (Dr. Brett) Niblack of
Kings Mountain, NC, Craig (Sherry) Houser of Indiana,
Michelle Bartoto of Ohio, Michael and Brian Huffman of
Otisco, IN, Nicolas, Tiffany, and Bethannie Huffman of Osceola;
great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Andrew Peak, Taylor and Alex
Niblack, Cory, Leia and Taylor Houser. She is also survived by
her brother, John Belting of South Bend, and Sister
Patricia Belting, P.H.J.C., of Donaldson, IN.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00
to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007, in Chapel Hill Funeral
Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, with a Rosary to be
recited at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10:30 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, in Queen of Peace Catholic
Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, with one hour of visitation
prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that memorial donations in her name be made to the Queen of Peace
Building Fund, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
