SOUTH BEND - Jacque C. Hudson passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday,
March 21, 2010 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka,
of natural causes. Jacque was born on September 8, 1926, in South
Bend, In., to the late Frank and Genevieve (Dauer) Hudson. He had
one brother, Jerry, who preceded him in death, and a sister,
Phyllis, who survives. On November 23, 1946, he married the
former Rosemary Personett, at The First Baptist Church in
Mishawaka, and they recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Rosemary survives along with their children, Susan (Tom)
Montgomery of South Bend, Sally (Mike) Gray, of Bay City, MI.,
and Robert (Linda) Hudson, of South Bend: one granddaughter,
Pamela (Chris) Smith: and seven grandsons, Michael and Timothy
Urbanski, Tom and John Montgomery, and Nicholas, Benjamin, and
Lucas Hudson: five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Riley, Alexandra,
Victoria, and Tradd. Jacque was an artist and had a true gift of
being able to do anything with wood. Whether it was building,
refinishing, or repairing furniture, his services were in demand
throughout the area. He worked at many of the local furniture
companies, most notably Mishawaka Furniture, Christianson's, and
Ries's. He worked for piano and organ stores, including Hedman's,
Shirks, and Peltz. He also worked repairing furniture for local
moving companies including Hall's, Woodworth's, and Allied.
Jacque never really retired from work. His work was also his
hobby. He loved his profession, and he only stopped working when
he could no longer carry his tool box. Jacque was an unselfish
man who put the needs of his wife and children above all else. He
worked seven days a week, to provide the best life he could for
his family. Cremation will take place and a graveside ceremony
will take place at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 W
Cleveland Road, Granger, Indiana, on April 3, 2010, at 11:00 a.m.
Contributions in memory of Jacque C. Hudson may be made to the
American Lung Association. To send condolences, please visit www.mcgannhay.com.
