WALKERTON - Richard A. ''Dick'' Hudkins, 44, of 3580 Tamarack Road, died after an illness at 6:55 p.m. Monday in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Hudkins was a farmer and heavy-equipment operator for McMahan-O'Conner Construction Co., Rochester. He was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Plymouth and had lived at Walkerton the last 17 years.

In 1981, in Rochester, he married Kathy Johnson. They divorced. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Hudkins of Rochester; a son, Jeremy of Rochester; his parents, Lillian and Richard W. Hudkins of Rochester; and a brother, James of Rochester. He was a 1974 graduate of Ball State University and was active in Little League teams, coaching baseball and football.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until services Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia Foundation.
