Wayne E. Huber, 73, residing on
Hubbard Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 4 a.m. Thursday,
Feb. 7, in his winter home at Avon Park, Fla. Mr. Huber retired
in 1989 as a machinist from the Dodge Manufacturing Company after
36 years of service. He was born on Aug. 8, 1928, in Mishawaka,
to the late Harvey and Fern (Stallter) Huber, and was a
lifelong area resident.
On June 3, 1950, in South Bend, Ind., he
married Betty Marie Weiss, who has been his loving wife of
51 years. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law,
Glenn Wayne and Sharon Huber of South Bend; a sister,
Phyllis Reppert of Mishawaka; and by a brother, David
Huber of Bremen, Ind.
Mr. Huber was a member of the Gospel Center
Missionary Church, South Bend; Dodge Quarter Century Club; D.A.V.
Chapter 6, South Bend; and was an Army veteran of the Korean
Conflict.
Funeral services for Mr. Huber will be held
at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in Gospel Center Missionary Church,
930 S. 30th Street, South Bend. Rev. Phil Jerome and Rev. Don
Francis will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow
at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, Ind. The family will receive friends
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home,
2428 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, and one hour prior to services
in the church on Monday. Contributions in memory of Mr. Huber may
be made to Gospel Center Missionary Church.
