SOUTH BEND - Merle L. Huber, 83, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in her home. She was born on February 9, 1925, in Connersville, IN, to the late Harold and Esther Howard. Merle was preceded in death by her husband, John Huber, on October 26, 2005. She is survived by her sons, Tom Gordon of South Bend and Edward Gordon of Holland, MI; four grandchildren, Philip Gordon, Tina Mynsburge, Tom Gordon III and Hillary Thompson; five great-grandchildren, Orrin and Hayden Thompson, Brandon and Kristen Mynsburge, and Stephani Gordon; and by her sister, Mary Millhouser of Owensboro, KY. Merle and her husband John were avid steelheaders for many years.

A memorial service was held at 1 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where friends visited for one hour prior to the service.
