SOUTH BEND - Mr. Ellis Wayne Howell, Sr., 60, of South Bend, Indiana departed this life at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 30th in his home following a brief illness. Ellis was born on October 23, 1948 to the late Hillie and Ida (Williams) Howell. He grew up in South Bend and graduated from Adams High School in 1968. Following a brief tour in the Army Ellis pursued a career in Glazing. He was one of two minority glazers in Indiana. He had been employed in this career for more than 27 years until his untimely death. In addition, Ellis owned Howell Enterprises Rental Properties. He leaves to cherish his memory a son Damon Howell, a daughter-in-law, Terri Howell, four grandchildren, Tylece Howell, Sierra Howell, Kaya Howell and Lamont Douglas all of Indianapolis. A special aunt, Rosta Wynns (Lonzo) of South Bend, a god-brother Ronald Newbill (Jo) and two very special friends Bernice Freeman of South Bend and Barbara Brown of Buchanon, MI also survive him along with three of his favorite cousins, Adonna Howell of Los Angeles, CA, Francine Howell of San Francisco, CA and Zonia Wynns of Florida and a host of other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, Ellis was preceded in death by two sons, Jason Howell and Ellis Howell, Jr.
