SOUTH BEND - Harriet V. Houck, 93, of Greensprings Manor, formerly of 3118 Mishawaka Ave., died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in the nursing home. Mrs. Houck was born Oct. 14, 1901, in Goshen, and lived in South Bend since 1929, coming from Goshen.

In 1936, in South Bend, as Harriet Miles, she married Carl Houck. He died in 1972. She is survived by two sons, Loys B. Juday of Mishawaka and Glenn I. Martin of South Bend; a stepson, Richard Houck of Texas; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A son, Gene Darr, preceded her in death. She was a member of Gospel Center and past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post 284.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
