DAUGHTER DIES SHORTLY AFTER FATHER'S FUNERAL.

Mrs. Ellen Houck Succumbs After Long Illness.

Services to be Held in Free Methodist Church Tuesday”.

 

Mrs. Ellen Houck, age 42, of 807 Hendricks street, died in St. Joseph's hospital at 5:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon, not long after the funeral of her father, Robert D. DeLong <which> was held in the Free Methodist church, Mishawaka the same afternoon.

Her husband, Bert Houck, died in this city on July 10, this year.  Mrs. Houck had been ailing for two years and her death was the result of complications.

Mrs. Houck was born in Three Rivers, Mich., Nov. 10, 1885 and came to Mishawaka from there 32 years ago.  She was married in 1907 and the following sons and daughters survive:  George, Virgil, Emma, Louise, Edith and June, all at home, and Mrs. Kenneth Myers, this city.  Two brothers and five sisters also survive as follows:  George DeLong, South Bend, Orin, this city; Mrs. Milo Anglin, Milford, Ind.; Mrs. Walter Foresberg <Forsberg>, Mrs. Earl Gordon, Emma and Edna, the latter all of South Bend.

The remains will be taken from the Sprague chapel to the residence on Monday and services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Free Methodist church, Mishawaka, Rev. E. A. Cutler of the River Park church, and Rev. Shoemacker, of the Mishawaka church, officiating.  Interment will be in Fairview cemetery.  Mrs. Houck was an influential member of the Free Methodist church in River Park, South Bend.
