Charles E. Houck, 57, of 1212 Dodge,
died at 4:40 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital after suffering an
apparent heart attack. He was born on Feb. 6, 1920, in
Mishawaka, and had lived here all his life. He was employed
by the Dodge Manufacturing Corp., division of Reliance Electric
Co., for 14 years, and was a member of the First Church of the
Nazarene.
He married Caroline B. Linn in Three Rivers, Mich., on April 6, 1942, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Mapes of Osceola, Mrs. Debra Johnson of Tulluhoma, Tenn.; a son, Stephen E., at home; three grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Eva Myers of Bremen, Mrs. Emma Krieter and Mrs. June Evans of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Louise Grisamer of Connecticut and Mrs. Edith Whoel of California, and two brothers, Virgil B. of South Bend and George R. Houck of Warsaw. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel.
