Joseph M. Horvath (March 19, 1943 -- Oct. 20, 2004)

Joseph M. "Joey" Horvath, 61, of Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, in Healthwin.

Joey was born on March 19, 1943, in South Bend, Ind., to Louis and Helen (Farkas) Horvath, who preceded him in death, along with a sister, Lydia Horvath.

Joey's parents were among the founding families of Logan Center. Joey took their love and passed it along to everyone he met with a joyous smile as big as the Notre Dame Stadium, home of his beloved Fighting Irish. He touched all his caregivers at Holy Cross Living Center, Logan and Healthwin. Joey's surviving relatives are his cousins, Mary Ann Kovatch and Paul Horvath of South Bend, and Elizabeth Johnson of Bremen, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Ave.
