SOUTH BEND - Helen Horvath, 97, of
Montgolfier Place, died about 7 a.m. Sunday in her home after an
illness. Mrs. Horvath was born Dec. 16, 1896, in Budapest,
Hungary, and lived in South Bend since 1983, coming from
California.
In 1920, as Helen Fodor, she married
Frank Mihocza. He died in 1933. In 1935, she married
Michael Horvath. He died May 22, 1980. She is survived by three
daughters, Gizella Nagy, Ann Coddington and
Margaret DeMein, all of South Bend; a son, Frank Mihocza
of South Bend; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a
stepgreat-grandchild; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild. She was
preceded in death by two daughters, Rosalie Mihocza, who died in
1946, and Helen Visel, who died in 1992; a son, Charles Somogyi,
who died in 1969; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in
Zahoran Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the
funeral home, where a rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
