was born on April 17, 1938, as the daughter of the late Louis and
Elizabeth Horvath. She was also preceded in death by a brother,
Gene. Betty Lou was a caring, compassionate woman who spent her
life believing in the goodness of people. She had a great sense
of humor, and brought smiles and good times to those who knew

understanding, her shoulder to cry on, her arms open to hug, her
hand to hold, and her ears to listen.

cousin, Joyce Mayberry, her husband, Brad, and their son,
Jason; two aunts, Helen Dominello and Theresa (Hank) Wallbroeck;
nieces, Vicki (Larry) Gimson and Pam (Albert) Szoke;
and several great-nephews and nieces.
Betty Lou had a big heart and made those
with whom she worked with at the Portage Township Office, the
Department of Public Welfare Food Stamp Division and the Housing
Allowance Office feel wanted, needed, important and special,
never leaving anyone out. She encouraged tolerance and acceptance
of all.
Betty Lou was a member of the St. Anne
Society of Our Lady of Hungary Church and St. Anthony de Padua
Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10
a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001. Burial will follow at Highland
Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday
in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a R
osary will be recited at 3 p.m. Contributions in memory of Betty
Lou may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to St.
Anthony de Padua Church.
