Betty L. Horvath, 76, of South Bend,
Ind., died at 3:51 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, in Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1920, in Chicago,
Ill., and resided in the South Bend area for most of her life.
On April 25, 1942, in South Bend, as Betty
L. Wiley, she married Frank Horvath, who survives. She is
also survived by a daughter, Cynthia L. Sochocki of South
Bend; a son, Wiley F. Horvath of South Bend; five grandchildren,
Kimberly Luczkowski of South Bend, Wiley Horvath, Jr., of
Niles, Mich., Kristin Gall of North Liberty, Ind., and
Mindi and Donald Horvath, both of South Bend; five great
grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Bell Knebel of South
Bend. A sister, Rose Lee Tindall, preceded her in death in
1986. Mrs. Horvath retired as a nurse assistant from Healthwin
Hospital. She was a member of Clay United Methodist Church, and
was a member of the order of Eastern Star, Chapter 2.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday, Jan. 23, in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland
Road. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place. The
family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the
American Lung Association, 319 S. Main St., South Bend, IN 46601,
or to the American Cancer Society, 404 S. Columbia, Suite 250,
South Bend, IN 46601.
