MISHAWAKA - Colette R. Hornung, 89, was born on December
28, 1917, in Mishawaka, IN, died September 25th, 2008. She was
the Loving wife of the late Frank T. Hornung; beloved mother of
Thomas (Susan) Hornung, Carolyn Wenner, Jerry (Barbara)
Hornung, Robert (Catherine) Hornung, Christine (James) Russo,
Kenneth (Dona) Hornung, Ronald (Cynthia) Hornung, Theodore
Hornung, Mary (Kevin) Noel and Jean (Brent Starr)
Hornung-Starr; dear sister of Albert (June) Gerstbauer and
George Resnik, Isabelle Seymour, Mildred Shamo
and Peggy Gerstbauer. She was preceded in death by brothers,
Fabian (Velma) Gerstbauer, Fr. James Gerstbauer, Joseph (Irma)
Gerstbauer, Richard Gerstbauer; and sisters, Angela (George) Cressy
and Regina Resnik. She was the proud grandmother of 30
grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren, was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Colette's prime interest was her family, she actively supported
Frank's involvement with the St. Vincent De Paul Society and
enjoyed gardening, music and dance; she worked many years as
election inspector, she also enjoyed skip-bo and traveling,
visiting a myriad of friends from coast to coast.
Visitation will be held today and Monday
from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home,
Royal Oak, MI. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.,
10:30 a.m. instate at St. Dennis Catholic Church, Royal Oak, MI.
