GRANGER - James M. Horan, 46, of
Rockingham Drive, died at 8:21 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph
Community Hospital, Mishawaka, after an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Horan was an account executive for Xerox Corp., South Bend,
where he had been employed since 1971. He was born May 25, 1949,
in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.
On Dec. 19, 1970, in South Bend, he married
Carol A. MacLean. She survives with a son, Cory J. at
home; his father, John P. Horan of South Bend; a sister, Jean Badry
of Alexander City, Ala.; and a brother, John P. Jr. of Marathon,
Fla. A son, Ryan J., died Aug. 11, 1977. Mr. Horan was a member
of Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles, and had attended Clay
and First United Methodist churches of South Bend. He was a
member of the President's Club of Xerox Corp., and Morris Park
Country Club, of which he was a past president. Mr. Horan was a
Indiana University South Bend graduate.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First
United Methodist Church, South Bend. Burial will be in Highland
Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research
