Renee Hopson
July 17, 1968 - March 16, 2003
Renee Hopson, 34, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Mishawaka and South Bend, Ind., died following a 20-year illness at 5:24 a.m. Sunday, March 16, in Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso.
Miss Hopson was born July 17, 1968, in Kokomo, Ind., to Roy Lee and Paula (Cole) Hopson, and lived in the South Bend-Mishawaka area until moving to Valparaiso seven years ago.
She is survived by her parents, Paula E. Hopson of Mishawaka and Roy Lee Hopson of Arizona; her sister, Verna Hopson of Mishawaka; her grandparents, Verna (Laughman) and Eugene Carter of Granger, Ind.; three aunts, Janis (Casey) Slisz of Mishawaka, Kay (Wayne) Terwilliger of Northfield, Mich., and Tabatha Schultz of Pelzer, S.C.; five uncles, Roger (Nancy) Schultz of Danville, Ind., Dennis (Jude) Carter of Lawton, Mich., Bruce Carter and William Carter, both of Mishawaka, and Kevin (Carol) Carter of Granger; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Pastor John Bolinger of Church of Acts 4:12 in Bremen, Ind., and the Rev. Daniel Clark of Westminster Presbyterian Church in South Bend officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends called Wednesday, March 19, in the funeral home.
