Brother Kenneth Hopkinson CSC, 74, of
Dujarie House at Holy Cross Junior College, died there at 5:10
a.m. Sunday after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 29, 1902
in Alpena, and entered the religious community on Sept. 15, 1929.
He mad his first profession of vows on Feb. 1, 1931 and his final
profession on Aug. 16, 1934. He was assigned to Dujarie Hall from
1931 to 1932, and from 1932 to 1933 worked in the mailroom at Ave
Maria Press at Notre Dame. From 1933 to 1939 he was a canvasser
for Ave Maria Press. He retired in 1969 and lived at Holy Cross
High School in Flushing, NY, until 1976 when he returned to
Columba Hall at Notre Dame.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today in Holy
Cross Brothers Center. A wake service will be in the chapel of
St. Joseph at the Brothers Center at 7:30 p.m. today. Services
will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery
on the campus of Holy Cross Junior College.
