Raymond Allen
Hoover.
Raymond Allen Hoover, a South Bend resident for about 30 years, died last
Thursday in Portland, Ore., where he was employed as a Union-Pacific Railroad
fireman. He formerly worked for the old Northern Indiana Railway.
Mr. Hoover was born Nov. 1, 1896, in Greensburg, Ind. He leaves his
widow, the former Miss Lillian Pierson; two sons, Harry, Elkhart, Ind., and
Eugene, of Edwardsburg, Mich.; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Myrtie Fields
Hoover; a brother, Theodore A., and a half-brother, Claude, both of
Edwardsburg. Mr. Hoover was a member of the South Bend Gospel
Tabernacle. Funeral services were held Monday in the Walley Funeral Home,
Elkhart. Burial was in Union Center Cemetery, Elkhart County.
