SOUTH BEND - John W. Hoover, 90, of Arcadia, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died Sunday in DeSoto Memorial Hospital, Arcadia. Mr. Hoover was employed by Studebaker Corp. as an assemblyman.

He was born Sept. 6, 1904, in Warsaw. He is survived by a son, John G. of Bradenton, Fla.; and three grandchildren. He was a member of United Auto Workers and AFL-CIO.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. There will be no visitation.
