MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Peter Hoose,
65, a resident of this city for over 60 years and a faithful
member of the Baptist Church, died at her home on North Margaret
Street Friday afternoon at 3:40 p.m. after an illness of six
months with cancer of the stomach. She was born in Saxony,
Germany, Sept. 2, 1847, and came to this country with her parents
when she was four years of age and settled in Buffalo. She came
to Mishawaka in 1853, where in 1867 she married Peter Hoose who
died May 1, 1913.
Mrs. Hoose leaves five children and 17
grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Brenninger and Mrs.
L. F. Wickizer of Mishawaka; and Mrs. H. H. Minzey
of Buchanan, Mich. The sons are William C. and George E. Hoose,
of this city.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at
2 o’clock from the residence, 1005 North Margaret Street,
the Rev. T.J. Giblett, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in City Cemetery.
