MISHAWAKA - Elsie R. Honold, 96, of Mishawaka, passed away
Wednesday morning, December 12, 2007, in St. Paul's Retirement
Community, South Bend. Elsie was born March 31, 1911, in
Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Felix and Philomena (Byle)
Boudonck. She grew up in Mishawaka and was Salutatorian of
the 1928 Class at Mishawaka High School.
On June 14, 1932, Elsie married Edward C.
Honold Jr. and the couple made Mishawaka their home. Elsie was
employed as a secretary at Ball Band for over 45 years. She was a
member of St. Bavo Catholic Church. Elsie was an avid golfer,
playing in leagues at Eberhart Golf Course. She also enjoyed
playing cards and bowling in leagues. Elsie's surviving family
includes her daughter, Marilyn (John) Hanson of Solon,
Ohio and Naples, Florida; three grandchildren, Linda (Richard) Hunt,
Leslie (Kurt) Boveington and Laurie Hanson; and
four great grandchildren, Matthew Muir, Caroline Muir,
Brent Boveington and Elise Boveington. Elsie was preceded in
death by her husband, Ed, in 1958; her son, Richard Honold, in
1983; a sister, Alice DeVreese; and two brothers, Raymond
and Emiel Boudonck.
Friends may spend time with Elsie's family
Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Thallemer, Goethals & Wells
Funeral Home, 503 W. Third Street, Mishawaka, where a prayer
service will be at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church,
511 W. Seventh Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England
officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Contributions in Elsie's memory may be given to St. Bavo Church.
