SOUTH BEND - Helen K. Holt, 76, of Mayflower Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the Fountainview Nursing Center, Mishawaka, Ind.

Mrs. Holt was born on Feb. 12, 1926, in Collinswood, Tenn., and had resided in the South Bend area since 1953, coming from Collinswood. On April 28, 1943, in Corinth, Miss., as Helen K. Morris, she married Vernie L. Holt, who passed away on April 17, 1988. Helen is survived by a daughter, Kathy (John) McFadden of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sons, Jerry L. Holt of South Bend and Thomas L. Holt of Kokomo, Ind.; two granddaughters, Amy Holt of Indianapolis, Ind., and Katie McFadden of Grand Rapids, whom she loved and cherished; and by a sister, Wilma Jean Tidwell of Savannah, Tenn.

Helen was a very warm, loving mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Helen retired in 1988 from Automatic Molded Plastics as a quality control inspector after many years of service.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 28, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 1st, in the Shackelford Funeral Home, 450 N. Church Street, Savannah, Tenn., with burial at Centenary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Shackelford Funeral Home. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to Camp Millhouse. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Holt family.
