"Pen" Holloway

SOUTH BEND - Minnie L. "Pen" Holloway, 79, beloved
wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, cousin and
friend completed her earthly journey at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May
25, 2010. Minnie, best-known to all who loved her as
"Pen," was born September 10, 1930, to the union of
John and Minnie Mae Walker in Good Hope, TN. In 1962 Pen moved to
Chicago and met J.T. Holloway and worked at the Palmer House
Hotel until her retirement in 1999. Pen loved talking on the
phone, visiting with her friends, and playing her
"numbers." Most of all, she loved her family and
enjoyed visiting with her daughter and grandkids. Minnie is
remembered by her loving daughter, Mary E. (Joe) Jones;
grandchildren, Tom A. Jones, Stephanie D. Ivy, Shalawnda D.
(Jefferey) Wilkes, Joe D. Jones Jr. of South Bend, Samuel E.
Jones and Quincy L. Jones of Indianapolis; 12 great-grandchildren
and four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and
friends who will love and miss her dearly. Minnie was preceded in
death by her parents, John and Minnie Walker; husband, J.T.
Holloway; sister, Gracie "Teesie" Dixon; nephew, DeSoto
Walker; grandson, Michael T. Ivy; and great-grandson, Stanley
Ivy. Services for Mrs. Holloway will be Saturday, May 29, 2010,
in the Clark O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m., with funeral services at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The Clark O'Neal
Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
