SOUTH BEND - Graveside services and burial
for George E. Hollis, 78, of Roxbury Plaza, who died at
7:40 p.m. Sunday in Houston (Texas) Northwest Medical Center of
natural causes, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Kistler Cemetery,
Royal Center. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children.
Mr. Hollis retired from Adams Tool & Die
Co. as a tool and die maker after 37 years of service. He was
born Aug. 12, 1916, in Royal Center and lived in South Bend since
1948.
On Oct. 4, 1952, in Crown Point, Ind., he
married Martha Lucille Collins. She died in 1991. He is
survived by two daughters, Rita Vergon of Spring, Texas,
and Nita Grabner, with whom he made his home; and three
grandchildren. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian
Church, was past master twice of Valley Masonic Lodge 738, member
of Mizpah Shrine, Fort Wayne, ASSR Valley of South Bend, past
patron of Order of Eastern Star Rose Croix Chapter 575, was a
Rainbow Pop of Rose Croix Assembly 103 and Eagles Lodge 232,
Logansport, Ind. He was a veteran of World War II and received
the Bronze Star.
