SOUTH BEND - Rev. William P. Holleman, 73, of South Bend,
passed away after an extended illness at 9:40 a.m. Monday, May
26, in his residence. Rev. Holleman was born on October 17, 1934,
in South Holland, IL, and had resided in the Michiana area since
1975, coming from South Milford, IN.
On February 8, 1964, in South Holland, IL,
he married the former Phyllis G. Bos, who survives. Also
surviving are two daughters, Brenda K. Holleman and Barbara R.
Holleman, both of South Bend; a son, Bradley J. Holleman of South
Bend; two grandchildren, whom he loved and cherished, Alan
Holleman Reeves and Alison Holleman Reeves; a sister,
Judith Larsen of Tampa, FL; and a brother, Robert G.
Holleman of Fruitport, MI. Rev. Holleman was preceded in death by
his parents, and by a brother, Herbert Holleman Jr. Rev. Holleman
retired and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a wonderful
husband, father and grandfather who loved antiques, handball and
watching all sports. He was a graduate of Iliana Christian High
School in Lansing, IL, and enjoyed his three years at Calvin
College and Seminary, Grand Rapids, MI. He will be sadly missed
by his loving family and all who had the opportunity to know him
during his wonderful life journey.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, May 29, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana
23, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
May 30, in the funeral home, with Pastor Joseph Emmerth
officiating. Burial to follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
The family request that all memorial contributions be made to
Southern Care Hospice, Inc., National City Bank Bldg., Suite 340,
Mishawaka, IN 46545. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and
extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the
Holleman family.
