Jessie E. Holland, age 76, of North
Main Street, in Mishawaka, passed away on Friday, November 9,
2001 at Rosewood Terrace Nursing Home in Elkhart of natural
causes. Mrs. Holland was born July 23, 1925, to Lue Allen and
Lucy (Darby) Peak in Ramer, Tennessee.
On June 16, 1945, she married Romie L.
Holland in Marked Tree, Arkansas. He survives. Also surviving are
two sons, Tommy Holland and his wife, Nancy of Mishawaka and Dale
Holland and his wife, Cheryl of Breckenridge, Colorado; three
daughters, Jeanie Horne and her husband, Michael of
Elkhart, Barbara Livingston and her husband, Doug of
Mishawaka and Becky High and her husband, Kriss of
Mishawaka; along with three brothers, Bobby Peak, Earl Peak and
his wife, Myrtle, both of Goshen and Robert Peak and his wife,
Dean of Memphis, Tennessee. Surviving as well are three sisters,
Pearl Hamilton of Goshen, Dorothy Rogers of
Corinth, Mississippi, and Marie Taylor and her husband,
Bill of Earle, Arkansas, along with 10 grandchildren and 12
great- grandchildren. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her
parents, and her brothers, Howard Peak, Gene Peak and James Peak.
Visitation for Mrs. Holland will be held
from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2001 at Chapel Hill Funeral
Home in Osceola. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday,
November 12, 2001, by Reverend Doug Erickson at the Hillcrest
Baptist Church in Mishawaka, with interment to follow at Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Mrs. Holland was employed by
Farries-McMeekan in Elkhart where she packaged mirror frames for
15 years before her retirement in 1983. Memorial donations may be
given in her name to Hillcrest Baptist C hurch in Mishawaka, of
which she was a member.
