MISHAWAKA - Doris May Holland, 84, passed away at home on
Wednesday, February 11. Doris was born on May 5, 1924 in Warsaw,
IN to Russell and Bertha Shoemaker. She was preceded in death by
her parents and a brother Harold "Bud" Shoemaker. On
August 23, 1963 in Florida she married George Holland who
preceded her in death in 1996. Surviving are three children,
Pamela (Roger) Hackett of Mishawaka, Angela Huffman of Granger
and John (Cherie) Mortimore III of Mishawaka; grandchildren,
Justin Mortimore of San Augustine, FL, Joshua Mortimore of
Mishawaka, Kelly Miller of Houston, TX, John Eric Boler of Niles,
MI and Kati Romeleroux of Granger; and five sisters, Maxine Duff
of Osceola, Carol Jankowski of Crown Point, IN, Kathleen DeCent
of Bourbon, IN, Delta Hall of Bourbon, IN and Linda DeCent of
Crosby, MN. Also surviving is her companion and dance partner, of
the past 10 years, Ben Badowski, with whom she enjoyed much
dancing. She was a Cake Decorator before she retired. Doris was a
member of Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary of Elkhart, Elks Ladies
Auxiliary in Mishawaka and Eagles 2083 Ladies Auxiliary in
Mishawaka and was a member of the American Business Women's
Association. Visitation will be Sunday February 15, 2009 from 2
until 4 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
A private service and burial will be held at a later date. In
