John D. Holaway, 76, of North Liberty, [Indiana]
passed away at 12:36 a.m. Friday Jan. 27 in Memorial Hospital, after an
extended illness. He was a former employee of Uniroyal in Mishawaka with 41
years of service.
He was born July 15, 1929 in Nappanee, Ind., to John Jacob Holaway
and Mary Reed. He was married on April 27, 1951 in Chesterton,
Ind., to Loda M. Lines. She preceded him in death on Jan. 20,
2001. Also preceding him in death was a son, David on July 1, 1977.
Surviving is a daughter, Sherry L. Thornton of
Mishawaka; four sons, Gary G. of North Liberty, Wesley A. and Paul E., both of
South Bend, and Jerry D. of Wyatt, Ind.; a brother, Ronald of Middlebury, Ind.;
and a sister, Bonnie Sponseller of Elkhart, Ind., along with
10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Holaway was a former Warren Twp. Volunteer Firemen.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday Jan. 30 in the A. M. Manuel
Funeral Home, North Liberty and officiated by Rev. Ed Erskin,
pastor of the Northway Church of Christ. Burial will be at the Crumstown
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
