SOUTH BEND - Timothy J. Hojnacki, 51, formerly of South
Bend, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2008, in Las Vegas, NV.
Tim was born on December 16, 1956, in South Bend to the late
Joseph and Eugenia (Stoklosa) Hojnacki. He is survived by
his two sisters, Diana Hojnacki a citizen of the United States
and Susan (Robert) Widup of New Carlisle, IN; two nieces,
Katie and Rebecca Widup; many cousins, and friends both here and
in Poland. Tim was a graduate of Washington High School. After
graduation, he worked in his family's business, where he became
the 3rd generation owner of the Home Made Sausage Shop, using
recipes his grandfather brought back from Poland. He also spent
some time as a truck driver and worked for the United States
Postal Service before settling in Las Vegas. Tim was so proud of
his Polish heritage, he traveled to Poland and visited with
friends and relatives, and also invited them back to the US to
see our beautiful country. He kept in touch with many friends,
pen pals, and relatives by phone and letters, and he will always
be remembered for his special birthday cards that always said
"Sto Lat" which is the Polish birthday song, that means
I hope you live a 100 years. He will be missed by all who knew
him.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on
Tuesday, Sept. 16, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower
Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at
10 a.m. in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. The family has requested in lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN
46637.
