Sister M. Merwina CSC, 59, of St. Mary’s College, died in the infirmary there at 9:25 a.m. today after a two-year illness of cardiac thrombosis. She was born Regina Hoff in Danville, Ill. Jan. 6, 1882. She received the holy habit of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Aug. 15, 1904, and professed Aug. 15, 1909. She spent her entire religious life as a teacher in the schools of the order, spending some time at St. Joseph Academy and St. Joseph Parish School in South Bend.
