SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Francis Rapheal Hoff, CSC, 95, of Saint Mary's Annex, died at 5 p.m. Thursday in the residence. Sister Rapheal was born Gertrude Hoff on Feb. 20, 1900, in LaPorte.

She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Saint Mary's, on June 27, 1925. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1926, and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1928. She was an elementary teacher, assigned to St. Joseph's Grade School, Holy Cross School and St. Patrick's School, all in South Bend, and also to schools in Elkhart, Michigan City, Hammond and Anderson, Ind.; Chicago, Wood-stock and Cairo, Ill.; Alexandria, Va.; and Salt Lake City. She was assigned to Saint Mary's Convent, South Bend, from 1970 to 1988 and moved to Saint Mary's Annex in 1994.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday in the church, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor, Bertrand Hall, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
