Irene Hoffner, 78, of Terrace Lane,
South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:49 a.m. Thursday, April 25,
in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Irene was born March 25, 1924,
to the late Charles and Lottie (Sherman) Bradfield.
As Irene Bradfield, she married Thomas C. Hoffner in Mishawaka,
Ind., on Dec. 14, 1946. He survives. She is also survived by two
daughters, Sandra L. (Walter) Douglass of Granger, Ind.,
and Beverly J. (Larry) Annis of Mishawaka; a son, Robert
L. Hoffner of South Bend; four grandchildren, Michael Douglass of
El Paso, Ill., Johnathon C. Douglass, Jason L. Annis and Pamela
J. Annis, all of Purdue University; and by a great-grandchild,
Daniel M. Douglass of El Paso.
Mrs. Hoffner was a member of Prince of Peace
Church of the Brethren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main
Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and
6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will follow the services Saturday at
St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Diabetes Association or to the American Heart
Association.
