SOUTH BEND - Eugene F. Hoffman, 85, passed away on Monday,
March 24, at 2:12 a.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Eugene
was born on May 15, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Martin and
Carrie (Wisniewski) Hoffman.
On October 31, 1948, he married Jeanine Cinal
in LaPorte, IN. She survives, along with their two daughters,
Yvonne (Richard) McGill of Michigan City, IN, and Anne
(Robert) James of New Carlisle, IN; four grandchildren,
Rob (Donna) James, Yvette (Todd) Snyder, Carrie Adank
and Kevin Adank; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Snyder,
Jacqueline Snyder, Rebecca James and Katie James; and by his twin
brother, Evin (Corinne) Hoffman of New Carlisle, IN. Eugene
worked 22 years for Studebaker and 22 years for South Bend School
City. He was in the United States Army and served in the Battle
of the Bulge during World War II. He was a member of the 99th
Infantry Division Association, Disabled American Veteran
Association, and American Legion Post 357.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, March 26 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower
Road, South Bend, where a funeral liturgy will follow at 3 p.m.
in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to donor's choice.
