Hubert E. ''Dutch'' Hoefle, 76, of
East Jefferson, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 11:12 a.m. on
Wednesday, Nov. 11, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center,
South Bend, Ind.
Dutch was born on Feb. 18, 1922, in
Highland, Ill., to the late Edna and Lawrence Hoefle. He had
lived in this area since he was seven years old. Dutch was also
preceded in death by a brother, Elvin Hoefle in 1991; a sister,
Wanda Borkowski in 1994; and by a grandchild, Shaun Moore
in 1998.
On July 18, 1942, in Mishawaka, Dutch
married Betty J. Reihl, who survives. He is also survived
by four daughters, Julie (Vern) Houin and Terrie (Terry) Burtsfield,
both of Granger, Ind., Carole (Bruce) Moore of Mishawaka
and Sandy (Richard) Handley of Bremen, Ind.; a son, Bill
Hoefle of Elkhart, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Donald H. Hoefle of
Marcellus, Mich.
Dutch was a veteran of World War II, a
member of the V.F.W. Post in Indianapolis and the American Legion
Post 161 of Mishawaka. Dutch was a self-employed truck driver for
over 40 years.
Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. yesterday in
the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, where
services will be at 1 p.m. today, with Rev. Ervin Mize
officiating. Burial will take place in the Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens Cemetery, Osceola, Ind.
