MISHAWAKA - Elsie M. Hobkirk, 81, of West Seventh Street Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 9, in Saint. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka. Mrs. Hobkirk was born on April 20, 1919, in Arpin, Wis. She was a lifetime area resident. On July 15, 1939, as the former Elsie M. Schelstraete, she married Delmar H. Hobkirk, who preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1999. Mrs. Hobkirk was also preceded in death by two brothers, Prosper and Ed. Mrs. Hobkirk is survived by two sons, Ronald (Karen) Hobkirk and John (Roni) Hobkirk, both of Mishawaka; two brothers, Joseph Schelstraete of Mishawaka and Michael Schelstraete of Kentucky; one sister, Sharon (Tom) Dewey of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren, Terri Davidson, Sherri Wanberg, Kimberly Vincent, Angela Goodwyn, Jennifer McGee, Delmar Hobkirk, Jeffrey Hobkirk and Ryan Hobkirk; and by 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 P.M. on Sunday, Nov. 12, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday in the Hahn Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
