MISHAWAKA - Pearl E. Hixenbaugh, 96, of Fountainview Place, formerly of 911 N. Main St., died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday in the nursing home after an illness.

Mrs. Hixenbaugh was born May 23, 1897, in Madison Township. On Nov. 17, 1915, in Mishawaka, as Pearl Hesch, she married Calvin E. Hixenbaugh. He died in 1968. Surviving are four daughters, Verna Osborne, Margaret Kruger and Patricia Hixenbaugh, all of Mishawaka, and Betty Gavin of South Bend; five sons, Edward Scott, James and George, all of Mishawaka, Ralph of Hemit, Calif., and Dennis of Pittsburgh; 37 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irma Dosmann of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Rygaert, in 1975 and a son, Harry, in 1981.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home
