Edna P. Barrett Hixenbaugh, 72, of Raymond Avenue, St. Louis, Mo., passed away at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, in her residence. Edna was born on Oct. 13, 1929, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Paul E. and Hazel (Yazel) Kinnaman, who both have preceded her in death.

Edna married Henry E. Barrett of Mishawaka on Sept. 30, 1950. Mr. Barrett passed away in 1973. She has six surviving children from this marriage: Mrs. Karen L. True, Mrs. Carol J. Chojnacki, Mrs. Connie S. Williams, Mr. Curtis E. Barrett, Mr. Chris E. Barrett and Mr. Craig A. Barrett.

On Dec. 29, 1984, Edna married James A. Hixenbaugh of Mishawaka, who died on March 31, 1995.

Edna is also survived by her two brothers, Roy Shamory of Granger, Ind., and Edward Ray Shamory of Tennessee; and by 14 grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Edna was a V.F.W. Auxiliary member of Post #360. Edna was a proud daughter of the Cherokee Nation.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
