MISHAWAKA - Robert Gene Hinton Jr., 46, of Mishawaka,
passed away of natural causes at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, April 12,
2008, in his residence. Rob was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, to
Robert and Muriel (Stiebritz) Hinton on September 19,
1961.
On December 17, 1999, Rob was united in
marriage to the former Ms. Rebecca N. Kelley in Mishawaka,
Indiana. Rob is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hinton of
Mishawaka; his daughter, Wynona Dennis of Elkhart,
Indiana; two stepsons, Donald J. and Michael A. Smith,
both of Osceola; his father, Robert G. (Nadine) Hinton Sr. of
Edwardsburg, Michigan; his mother, Muriel A. Gordy of
Osceola; three brothers, Paul Simmerman of Osceola, Kris
(Julie) Hinton of Granger and Johnny (Dawn) Vance of
Elkhart; as well as a sister, Tammy (Gary) VanMeter of
West Virginia. Rob is also survived by six grandchildren,
Juliette Espinoza, Daveon and Jayvon Dennis, Josh, Jake
and Abby Smith; and a close friend, Randy Stafford of
Osceola.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to
the 3:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, April 16, in Chapel
Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Rob was employed for several years by Performance CarStar of
Osceola as an automobile detailer. In his spare time he enjoyed
fishing and boating, playing pool, camping and bonfires, and
listening to rock-and-roll music. He attended the Cedar Road
United Missionary Church of Osceola as well. Memorial
contributions may be made in his name to the American
Heart Association.
