Mr. Robert James Hill, cherished
father, grandfather and brother, a resident of Indianapolis,
Ind., departed this life at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, in the
Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind., at
the age of 62. Robert, son of the late George Washington and Sara
(Blue) Hill Sr., was born in South Bend on Dec. 21, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George
Washington Hill Sr. Robert attended and graduated from John Adams
High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States
Army, and was a 20-year employee of Bendix Allied Signal. He
resided in South Bend until one year ago, moving to Indianapolis,
Ind.
Surviving family members include one
daughter, Michele Hill of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Daryl Hill
of Indianapolis, Christopher Hill of South Bend and Robin Hill of
Las Vegas, Nev.; one grandchild; six sisters, Verneal Leonard,
Betty Childress, Evelyn (John) Childress and Rosanna Austin,
all of South Bend, and Patrice Washington of Flint, Mich.,
and Josie Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers,
George Washington (Roselia) Hill Jr. and Donald (Lisa) Hill, both
of South Bend; along with many other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. Hill will be held at 1 p.m.
Saturday in Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow at Highland
Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the time of services
in Alford's Mortuary , where arrangements have been entrusted.
