SOUTH BEND – Eugene L. Hill, 60, of 54700 Merrifield, Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend , died at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital. He had been ill several weeks with a heart ailment. He was a manufacturer’s representative for Burcliff Industries for 30 years and was the co-founder of Animated Manufacturing Co. in Chicago. He was born on April 17, 1917 in South Bend and lived here most of his life.

On May 10, 10941 he married Mildred E. Cressy. She survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Gwenyth DeLee of South Bend; a son, Malcolm E. of South Bend; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Hampel of N. Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Marilyn Cooper of South Bend, and a brother, Jacob of Jonesville, Mich.

Services will be at 2 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on the Notre Dame campus. Rev. Chester Soleta, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 to 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the Hickey Funeral Home. Mr. Hill was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the People of Praise.
