Bruce Hildebrand

SOUTH BEND - Mr. Bruce Hildebrand, 49, was born in South Bend, IN, on September 15, 1948. He was born to Jerry and Betty Hildebrand, both of South Bend, IN. He had one sister, Jan Bostic, who resides in Granger, IN, with her husband, Jim Bostic; mother, Betty Hildebrand; and daughter, Kristi Papgynski. His dad, Jerry, died of esophageal cancer on March 21, 2003.

Bruce married Karen Krause on September 20, 1980, and they remained soul mates until his death. Bruce had miraculously survived a bout with cancer in 1984. However, esophageal cancer attacked his body in September 2007 and he lost a very courageous battle with this disease on May 28, 2008. Bruce graduated from Riley High School in 1966 and received a bachelor's degree in business from I.U. in 1970. He was a sales representative for Square D Electric Co. for 30 years. After moving to Tarpon Springs, Florida, in 2001, Bruce became a real estate agent for Century 21. Bruce was a wonderful, gentle man who will be terribly missed by his wife, family members and a multitude of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21st, at 11 a.m. in Grace United Methodist Church. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service.
