Ernie Higgins

March 16, 1907 – September 4, 1983

Services for Ernie Higgins, 76, of 205 St Joseph, Osceola, who died at 7:15am Sunday in Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend, after a brief illness, will be at 10am Wednesday in the Warner Funeral Home, Osceola.  Rev. Floran Mast, administrator of the Hubbard Hill Retirement Home, Elkhart, will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today in the funeral home

He was born on March 16, 1907, in Jefferson County IN and lived here 23 years, after coming from Madison IN.  On April 20, 1963, in Roseland, he married Lucille Slocum.  She survives along with a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joan Kline of Daytona Beach FL; three stepsons, Clyde Slocum of Mishawaka, and James & Thomas Slocum, both of Elkhart; 10 step grandchildren and a step great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Addison of Vevay IN.  A Navy veteran of WW II, he was a retired farmer.
