Mrs. Oscar Hicks, age 66, life long resident of this
community, died at 6 o'clock this morning after a year's illness
in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Reed, six miles
southeast of the city.
She was born in Pleasant Valley, northeast of the city, Oct. 17,
1863, and as Miss Adelia Bryson, was married 43 years ago
to Oscar Hicks, who survives.
In addition to the husband, one daughter and four brothers
survive: they are Mrs. Floyd Reed, Frank Bryson, of
Elkhart; Fred Bryson, of California; Arthur Bryson, also of
California, and William Bryson, of this city. Three grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The body may be viewed in the Reed residence and funeral services
will be held from there Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial
will be made in the Osceola cemetery.
