Obituary: William C. Hickey

Jan. 11, 1923 -- Feb. 23, 2004

William C. "Bill" Hickey, 81, of Healthwin Specialized Care in South Bend, Ind., passed away on Monday, Feb. 23, in the nursing home.

Bill was born on Jan. 11, 1923, in South Bend, to William James and Bernice (Truckowski) Hickey. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Mishawaka, Ind.

Surviving are his daughters, Jacquie (Thom) Jegier of Granger, Ind., and Dawn (Tom) Isaman of Minneapolis, Minn.; sons, Audie (Betty) Hickey of Royal Ann, Calif., and Shawn (Debbie) Hickey of Niles, Mich.; grandchildren, Kelly (Hickey) Todman, Elizabeth Hickey, Ben Hickey, Erzse'bet Hickey, Brenton Hickey and Bradley Hickey; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Hanna Todman; sisters, Dorothy Homeleski of South Bend, Irene Lyczynski of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Virginia Gumkowski of South Bend; and by a brother, Edward Hickey of Ohio.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Private burial will take place.
