Mrs. Kathryn B. Hickey, 88, widow of Thomas L. Hickey Sr., the founder and president of Hickey Construction Co., died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Healthwin Hospital.

She lived at 1004 E. St. Vincent St. before she entered the hospital. Born Dec. 23, 1884 in Plymouth, she lived in South Bend all her life.

On Oct. 18, 1911 in South Bend, as Kathryn Hiss, she was married to Thomas L. hickey Sr. who died Dec. 15, 1966.

Surviving are five sons, Thomas L. Jr., Donald F., Jerry A. and Joseph E., all of South Bend, and John P. of Wellesley Hills, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Sarb of Dearborn, Mich.; 43 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a sister, Irene Hiss of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hickey Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Donald Guertin, CSC, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
