Josephine M. Hickey

SOUTH BEND - Services for Josephine M. Hickey, 96, of Stanfield Street, who died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services in the church. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.

Mrs. Hickey was born Feb. 17, 1898, in County Cork, Ireland, and lived in South Bend since 1980, coming from Atlanta. In 1926, in New York City, as Josephine Mary McCarthy, she married Michael Joseph Hickey. He preceded her in death. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Ted Manier, Dan Manier, and Maureen Manier, all of South Bend, Michael Manier and Jeremy Manier, both of Chicago, John Manier of Los Angeles, and David Manier of New York City; three great-grandsons; and two sisters, Frances Hickey of England and Maude Hickey of Ireland. A daughter, Dorothy F. Manier, died Oct. 7, 1988. She was a member of the church.
