2, 1963 - March 6, 2010SOUTH BEND - Daniel "Dan" Christopher "Boomer" Hickey, 46, of South Bend, died Saturday morning, March 6th, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Dan was former vice president of sales with Carleton Financial Services, South Bend, for several years. He was born July 2, 1963, in South Bend, to Joseph Edward and Mary (McGann) Hickey, who survive along with a daughter, Caroline Hickey and a son, Collin Hickey; four sisters, Mary (Joseph) Woodka of South Bend, Katy (Mark) Bradford of Bloomington, IN, Anne M. (Dan) Brown of Winchester, Virginia, Sue (John) Holmes of South Bend; two brothers, Joseph E. (Kathy) Jr. of South Bend and Albert (Ann Marie) Hickey of Western Springs, Illinois; along with 18 nieces and nephews; and Dan's longtime close friend, Nancy Gibbons. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 8th, in the Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, with Monsignors Michael Heintz and William Schooler presiding. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The family will receive friends from 3 - 7 p.m. (today) Sunday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, and from noon until services Monday in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. Dan was a 1981 graduate of Marian High School and a 1985 graduate of The University of Notre Dame, chairman emeritus and founder of the Sunnymede Men's Club, and a former chairman of the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley.
